FAQs
What’s the best way to contact you?
Email.
We suck at answering the phone when it rings because on business days we’re either in a booking, or driving to the next one (and you shouldn’t talk and drive!)
Email is great, because it means we can respond to you at ridiculous hours of the night without worry of disturbing you.
If you leave us a voicemail or text message we’ll respond as soon as we can. Because we don’t get home until late and we refuse to bother you outside of business hours, it may not be on the same day you made contact.
Where are you located?
We’re based in Melbourne but service Victoria wide!

We love our community and we love their dogs. We offer a lot of discounted services and volunteer a lot of our time, despite the hard work we’ve put into getting where we are today. If you are in a comfortable financial position, we kindly ask for your support so that we can continue to offer the work that we do.
How many sessions will I need?
Dog training is a unique journey to each pet and their owner. There are so many factors that can contribute to how a dog learns or progresses. For some behaviour modification, like teaching basic foundation skills such as sit, drop, loose leash walking, you may only need one session, however it’s not uncommon for clients to book thinking their dog will achieve quick behaviour change, and when we meet their beautiful puppers we uncover some other underlying issues such as poor impulse control that needs to be treated also, affecting how quickly you will achieve your training goals.
We work with a lot of pets who display complex behaviours and experience anxiety, fear or frustration. These behaviours tend to involve a longer training plan.
Other factors that can contribute to how long behaviour change takes may include the animals home environment, prior learning experiences, current knowledge base, genetics or health.
During your initial consultation after assessment with your Consultant we will explain to you what progress we want to see and by when this should be achieved.
I’ve made my first booking, what should I expect?
Every single client will have a different experience from the next. In our industry there is a saying ‘train the dog in front of you’ and we believe this applies to the dog’s human as well! Everyone learns differently so we’re known for going with the flow.
As a generalisation, before your booking we may ask you to complete a behaviour questionnaire so that we have an idea of what’s up before meeting you.
We start each consultation with a conversation - we’ll clarify some things on your behaviour questionnaire, gather history, chat about your dogs behaviour, and in most cases even conduct an assessment so we can see exactly what’s going on. We’ll then explain your dogs behaviours, create a training plan with you and make other recommendations for success. We’ll then proceed to teach you how dogs learn, and guide you through your training plan so you know how to implement it.
After your initial consultation, we’ll ring and check in on you to see how things are traveling, answer questions and offer additional support. If your struggling beforehand, you are of course most welcome to touch base with us first.
Can you modify my dogs behaviour through Day Training, Board & Train or Walk & Train services?
We wish - but no.
Like we mentioned before there are lots of things that can contribute to the rate or level in which a dogs behaviour is modified. One of these factors is home environment. If a dog is not receiving consistency it is not uncommon that Walk & Train or Day Training services will make little to no difference to your dog, or the trainer may see behaviour change but the dog will behaviour differently for it’s owners.
Our businesses goal is to teach owners how to teach their dogs. Walk & Train or Day Training services can definitely help with behaviour change in it’s own merit. We’re not money hungry, and don’t make promises we can’t keep, so if you’re confused about whether or not these are right for you, contact us for a chat.
