We’re always keen to grow our team!

Are you an enthusiastic, passionate, and knowledgeable Dog Trainer or Animal Behaviourist? We’re looking for someone like you to join our team at Shelby Thorn Animal Behaviour! As we grow, we need confident communicators who can teach, inspire, and help guide both clients and fellow team members.

About ya’ll:

You’ll be running dog training courses on a rotational roster, so confidence and the ability to teach others are key. You'll need to be skilled at reading complex canine behaviors and translating that knowledge to owners in one-on-one and group settings. We’re looking for someone who can communicate well not just with clients but also with our team!

You’ll also provide private behavior consultations, including working directly with clients, interpreting and recording behavior, creating training plans, and managing cases.

The deets:

  • A bubbly, engaging personality who can connect with a wide range of people.

  • Availability to work weeknights and weekends on rotation.

  • Ability to manage class admin tasks and learn our software system.

  • Practice a positive, fear-free approach to animal handling and training.

  • Ability to guide clients toward effective, stress-free behaviour modification using modern, evidence based techniques.

  • Qualifications in animal behaviour or training are highly desirable, but practical experience in safely managing animals and interpreting body language is most important.

The benefits:

  • Initial training and ongoing professional development opportunities.

  • A friendly, supportive team and a wholesome work environment that fosters personal and professional growth.

  • Flexible hours and workload to fit your lifestyle.

If you’re dedicated to pet wellbeing and excited to join a dynamic, positive team, we’d love to hear from you!
